Votes in Israel and Serbia may show groups outside government gaining seats
Israel’s final results, published early Friday, Oct. 30, gave Arab-led parties a record 19 of the Knesset’s 120 seats and left Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc at 53, short of a majority, The Times of Israel reported. In Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić conceded defeat on Sunday, Oct. 25, to a list backed by a student-led protest movement, the BBC and The Guardian reported. Read together, they may show groups outside government gaining seats, though Israel is the looser fit.
