Three October emergencies may show the response widening beyond local agencies

After a school shooting in Bend, Oregon, on Oct. 15, the FBI said it was assisting on the scene, ABC News reported. After a fire at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright in Alberta on Oct. 17, Saskatchewan’s premier said he had deployed resources to Alberta, the BBC reported. For California’s Norte fire, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that the state had secured a federal grant, the Los Angeles Times reported. Read together, they may show the response widening beyond local agencies.
