A deadly missile strike on Riyadh’s airport and contested Aramco and Mokha claims may show Yemen’s war widening into Saudi Arabia

A Saturday missile strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh killed 12 people and wounded 309, Saudi authorities said; the Saudi-led coalition blamed Iran-backed Houthis, and France 24 and Al Monitor noted the group had not claimed that attack at the time of those reports. Days earlier, Houthis claimed strikes on an Aramco site near Riyadh while the coalition called those claims “misleading,” Al Jazeera and The National reported. Yemen’s Saudi-backed government said it retook Mokha; CNBC said it could not independently verify the claims and that Houthis have reportedly denied that Mokha fell. Read together, they may show the Yemen fight widening into Saudi Arabia even when some claims stay contested.
