Two new buyouts and the Paramount–Warner merger may show big deals going ahead with borrowing costs near two-decade highs

Schneider Electric agreed to buy PTC for $205 a share in cash, and C.H. Robinson agreed to acquire RXO in a cash-and-stock deal that it valued at $5.8 billion. Those buyouts helped lift stocks Monday even as the 10-year Treasury yield rose to about 5.31%, keeping borrowing costs near their highest in more than two decades. David Ellison named the leaders of the new Skydance Corp. on the eve of closing Paramount’s $111 billion Warner Bros. Discovery deal, and the new company carries an estimated $80 billion-plus in net debt. Read together, they may show big deals going ahead even with borrowing costs near two-decade highs.
