Norte fire and Boulder climate case may share one question: who pays

The Norte fire broke out Oct. 16 in Orange County and damaged or destroyed at least six homes, NBC Los Angeles reported; Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that California secured a federal grant letting agencies apply for 75% reimbursement of eligible fire-suppression costs, the Los Angeles Times reported. Boulder, Colorado, is suing Exxon and Suncor for local climate costs, including wildfire-risk work; the companies deny the allegations. The two may show wildfire costs reaching aid programs and the courts.
