The Emmys’ six-year Prime Video deal, Google’s 20-year nuclear power deal and Casey Bloys’s contract extension may show big organizations locking in long commitments
The Television Academy signed a six-year deal making Prime Video the exclusive home of the Primetime Emmys from 2027 through 2032, ending the four-network “wheel” that has rotated the show since the mid-1990s. Google agreed to a 20-year deal to buy new nuclear capacity from Constellation Energy, and the companies said the first upgraded plant is expected to deliver power in 2028. And HBO’s Casey Bloys signed a new multiyear deal to oversee both HBO Max and Paramount+ at the new Skydance Corp., while his earlier contract still ran through most of 2027. Read together, they may show big organizations locking in partners for years at a time, in Bloys’s case well before his old contract ran out.
