Hot inflation reports may reach a public already expecting a Democratic House
September producer prices jumped 1.3% from August, hotter than expected, Investopedia and MarketWatch’s market wrap reported Thursday, a day after consumer prices rose 3.7% from a year earlier, NBC News and CNBC reported. In a Pew survey taken Sept. 28–Oct. 4, before both reports, 55% of U.S. adults expected Democrats to win the House. Read together, they may show the last inflation data before the midterms reaching a public whose House expectations had already tilted toward Democrats.
